Furniture you’re donating, taken from your home to a Bristol charity shop you’ve booked in with — hourly rates, no fuss.
About this service
What charity shop drop off bristol actually looks like.
A lot of good furniture gets binned because people can’t move it to a charity. A sofa in a 2nd-floor flat doesn’t go in a car, and charity shops won’t always arrange collection themselves. I handle the middle bit: you book the piece in with the charity (they need to see a photo and check fire-safety labels on upholstery first), then book me to drive it over. £75/hr one-man, £110/hr two-man. No VAT. Most Bristol drops take an hour.
How it works
Step one: ring or email the charity with a photo and get it agreed — they’ll confirm fire labels, condition and a drop-off window. Step two: book me with the pickup address, the charity address, and the agreed drop window. Step three: I turn up, load, drive, hand over, get the donation receipt if the charity issues one, and drop that receipt to you.
What charities usually accept
Sofas, armchairs and upholstered furniture — only with compliant fire labels still attached. Wooden furniture — most pieces, condition-dependent. Beds and mattresses — some charities yes, some no, always check first. White goods — rarely, unless they have a specific reuse scheme. I’ll help gauge what’s likely acceptable if you’re unsure, but the charity has the final say.
How it works
Book a Bristol van in three steps.
- 1
Get in touch
Fill in the quote form with a few details about your move or clearance, or call us direct. The more you can tell us about access, stairs and the items involved, the tighter the price we can give you.
- 2
Receive a quote
We’ll reply with a price for your Bristol removal or clearance. Any access quirks or timing constraints are factored in up front, so the figure we send is the figure you pay.
- 3
Book the van
Confirm the date and we’ll handle the rest — loading, driving and unloading anywhere in Bristol, Bath or the South West. If it’s a clearance, waste is taken away under our waste carrier licence.

About us
Checkatrade — 9.8/10 · 164 ReviewsBristol Local Van Man — removals and clearance in Bristol.
Bristol Local Van Man is run by Nigel, a Nailsea-based owner-operator with 15+ years in removals and clearance across Bristol, Bath and the wider South West. We handle removals, rubbish clearance, house clearance and office clearance under one roof.
Most jobs are done by Nigel direct. Busy weeks and larger jobs bring in trusted local drivers Nigel has worked with for years — every one carries the same waste-carrier paperwork and works to the same fixed-price standard.
Waste is carried away under our UK registered waste carrier licence (CBDU445737), so items taken off your property go to a licensed facility rather than a side street.
Whether you’re moving a one-bed flat in central Bristol, clearing a probate property in Bath, or stripping out an office in Weston-super-Mare, get a price up front before anything is loaded.

Frequently asked
Charity Shop Drop Off Bristol— common questions.
Which Bristol charities take furniture?
Several do — Emmaus, the Sofa Project, British Heart Foundation, among others. Ring ahead with a photo — they’ll tell you yes or no before you book me.
How much is a charity drop-off in Bristol?
Hourly £75 or £110. Most in-Bristol drops take around an hour for a single piece of furniture.
Can you take multiple drops in one booking?
Yes — if two different charities are taking different pieces, I’ll do both stops. It’s still hourly, just a bit longer.
