About this service
What wardrobe removal bristol actually looks like.
Wardrobes are the furniture piece that always has to come apart before it can leave. Bedroom doorways and stair turns were not designed with a six-foot flat-pack double wardrobe in mind. I bring a cordless drill, a decent screwdriver set, and the patience to take one down without cracking MDF where the hinges bit in. Per-item pricing quoted on the phone — confirmed on arrival, no VAT, no call-out fee.
Flat-pack wardrobes come apart
Most modern wardrobes (IKEA Pax, Hemnes, the usual high-street ones) dismantle in 20–30 minutes once everything’s out of them. Doors off first, cam-lock fixings reversed on the carcass, shelves and hanging rails bagged up. They go into the van flat, which is half the reason dismantling is faster than trying to muscle a built one out a narrow Victorian hallway.
Solid wood and built-ins
Older solid-wood wardrobes usually come apart through the back panel and the crown moulding rather than at the joints — I’ll assess on arrival. Built-in wardrobes (fitted to the wall and floor) are a bigger job: they come out as panels, and if the building is rented there’s usually a conversation about what to do with the skirting afterwards. I’ll be honest about what’s achievable before I load.

About us
Checkatrade — 9.8/10 · 164 ReviewsBristol Local Van Man — removals and clearance in Bristol.
Bristol Local Van Man is run by Nigel, a Nailsea-based owner-operator with 15+ years in removals and clearance across Bristol, Bath and the wider South West. We handle removals, rubbish clearance, house clearance and office clearance under one roof.
Most jobs are done by Nigel direct. Busy weeks and larger jobs bring in trusted local drivers Nigel has worked with for years — every one carries the same waste-carrier paperwork and works to the same fixed-price standard.
Waste is carried away under our UK registered waste carrier licence (CBDU445737), so items taken off your property go to a licensed facility rather than a side street.

Frequently asked
Wardrobe Removal Bristol— common questions.
How much is wardrobe removal in Bristol?
Per-item pricing quoted on the phone from the type (flat-pack vs. solid, single vs. double vs. triple) and confirmed on arrival.
Can you take a built-in wardrobe apart?
Usually yes — fitted units come out as panels. Flag it when you book so I bring the right bits.
Do I need to empty the wardrobe first?
Yes please — an empty wardrobe is much faster (and safer) to dismantle than a full one.
