What counts as WEEE

Lithium-ion batteries in particular need careful routing because they’re a fire risk in mixed waste — I sort these out on the van and route them separately.
Why the rules matter
WEEE rules exist because this kit contains recoverable metals, plastics and some hazardous materials (mercury, cadmium, lithium) that shouldn’t go to landfill. A licensed carrier (that’s me — CBDU445737) takes the material to a registered WEEE facility where it’s stripped and processed. You can have a waste transfer note if you need one for records — standard for office and trade customers.
